Within the framework of the project Young People for Resilient Communities (YoReC), we are launching the YoReC Call for Narration, an open invitation to young people, youth workers, youth organizations and community members across Europe to share stories of resilience, solidarity, and active citizenship.
The call aims to collect and showcase real experiences that highlight how individuals and communities respond to social, environmental, and cultural challenges, fostering inclusive and supportive environments.
Through this Call for Narration, YoReC invites you to share your story, inspire others, and contribute to building resilient communities across Europe.
Objectives of the Call
The Call for Narration aims to:
- Give visibility to stories of resilient communities across Europe;
- Encourage youth participation and engagement;
- Foster intercultural dialogue and mutual understanding;
- Promote storytelling as a tool for active citizenship and social change.
Who Can Participate
The call is open to:
- Young people (18–30 years old);
- Youth workers and educators;
- Informal groups and community members;
- Organisations active in youth, culture, and community development.
Submissions can be individual or collective. You can tell your own story, or tell the story of another person or group/organization.
Themes
Stories should relate to the concept of resilient communities, including (but not limited to):
- Solidarity and mutual support;
- Inclusion and diversity;
- Community responses to crises (social, environmental, economic);
- Active citizenship and civic engagement;
- Local initiatives that strengthen social cohesion;
- Personal experiences connected to community resilience.
Formats
Participants are invited to submit stories in one of the following formats:
- Text narratives (short stories, testimonies, essays);
- Video stories (short films, documentaries, interviews);
- Podcasts / audio stories;
- Photo narratives (photo essays with captions or storytelling elements).
- Comics and Illustration
Hybrid and creative formats are also welcome.
Submission Guidelines
- Stories must be original and respect ethical standards (including consent for people involved);
- Submissions should be in English or accompanied by an English summary;
- Each submission must include:
- Title of the story;
- Author(s);
- Short description (max. 150 words);
- Format and technical details;
- Technical specifications (indicative):
- Text: max. 2,500 words;
- Video: max. 10 minutes;
- Audio: max. 10 minutes;
- Photo narratives: 5–15 images;
- Comix, illustration: max 10 pages
Submissions must be sent via the YoReC digital archive or email (see below).
Selection and Recognition
All submissions will be reviewed by the YoReC Network based on:
- relevance to the theme;
- originality and creativity;
- clarity and impact of the narrative.
Selected stories will:
- be published in the YoReC Archive;
- be featured in communication and dissemination activities;
- be presented during the YoReC Festival of Stories;
- receive a certificate of participation / Open Badge.
Timeline
- Submission deadline: 30 of June 2026
- Selection results: 20 of July
- Festival / public presentation: July 2026
Dissemination and Use of Materials
By submitting their stories, participants agree that their contributions may be:
- published and shared through YoReC channels;
- used for educational, cultural, and dissemination purposes;
- included in exhibitions, events, and digital platforms.
Authors will always be credited.

– select YoRec Call 4 Narration at the end of the story upload process.
